How To Create Instagram Stickers For Your Brand

If you're like us, then you're always trying to add a cute sticker or gif to your Instagram stories before you press post! These elements make Instagram stories pop more than if you just posted a photo and text.

Now you may be wondering, how do I leverage Instagram stickers for my brand and upload my own GIFs or logos as stickers? Full disclosure, it's a little time consuming but completely do-able! Here's how!

1. Create a Giphy account and get BRAND verified.

This is the most time-consuming part of the process. If you don't have a Giphy account yet, you'll need to create one first. If you already have one, then head to https://giphy.com/apply/ and apply for BRAND verification.

NOTE: For new accounts, you have to upload at least 5 GIFs to Giphy before you can fill out the application.

2. Make GIFs and upload them to Giphy as stickers.

GIFs must be uploaded to Giphy as stickers in order for them to show up on Instagram. In order for a GIF to be considered a sticker, at least 20% of the image must be transparent. Giphy also recommends the images be an equal height and width, but this is optional.

Giphy also offers a Sticker Maker tool which will make turning your pngs and logos into stickers super easy!

Lastly make sure you tag your new gif with 5-10 RELEVANT tags. This is how people will find your stickers/gifs. Beware though, Giphy will not approve stickers with irrelevant tags attached. Only use tags that correlate with your brand.

Pro Tip: You'll want to make your brand name one of your tags as it will make it easier to find your sticker later on.

3. Test your GIF.

Now for the fun part, head on over to Instagram and see if your sticker is there! You'll find it by searching for one of the relevant tags you attached to it. Don't panic if you don't see it right away as Giphy has to approve it first. If you still don't see, check Giphy's community guidelines to make sure you followed them.

4. Get posting!

Take full advantage of your new brand stickers displaying on Instagram and use the heck out of them!
